ceiba country inn
Local Attractions

Bienvenidos a Puerto Rico and to the East coast area of the Island. The Ceiba Country Inn is situated close enough to many attractions, yet offers a quiet respite from the days activities. When staying here make sure you plan a visit to El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical forest in the US National Forest System. Spread out over 28,000 mountain acres are lush vegetation, numerous peaks and waterfalls. Start at El Portal Rain Forest Center for guided tour information.

After a day of hiking you may want to cool off at one of the countless beaches on the island. La Montserrate in Luquillo, designated a blue flag beach, offers plenty of parking, barbecue areas and showers. A great beach for the kids! If your hunger kicks in don’t miss the famous Kioskos, which offer row after row of local and ethnic specialties in front of the beach area just off route 3.

For surfers Luquillo welcomes you to La Pared and La Selva. Stroll along the “malecon” just off the town plaza and watch the surfers, or take lessons yourself from the local surf shop.

Also in Luquillo is Hacienda Carabali, a 600 acre adventure ranch that offers horseback riding, mountain biking, and ATV tours.

20 minutes from the Ceiba Country Inn is the beautiful and intimate Seven Seas Beach in the Las Croabas area of Fajardo. Situated in a large natural bay with calm waters, Seven Seas is perfect for families, children or couples looking for a quiet place to escape. For the more adventurous and for advanced snorkelers, try Hidden beach, an easy hike from Seven Seas. For more information and important safety details please click here. Fajardo is the home of many water and boating activities and is the home of the Caribbeans largest marina (Puerto Del Rey), along with Sunbay Marina and Villa Marina. Here there are many “sail and snorkel” adventure tours and other water activities to choose from. And don’t forget the incredible bioluminescent lagoon, where you can kayak at night to experience this natural wonder. The lagoon and bay are part of the Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve, which offers daily tours (by reservation only). Contact the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico at 787 722 5882

Very popular with our guests and only a 15 minute drive to the ferry dock, you may want to plan a day trip to the island of Culebra or spend a few nights on the island of Vieques. The ferry, run by the Puerto Rico Ports Authority, runs daily and costs only $2.25 per person each way. The beaches on both of these islands are pristine and beautiful.

For the truly adventurous you may want to visit Rio Tinajas, also known as “Charco Frio”, located only 15 minutes from the Inn in Naguabo. Hike along the river into the rainforest and you will be treated to numerous waterfalls and natural pools. Even rope swings have been provided by the locals for those that are brave enough!

Try a zipline adventure at the foothills of El Yunque in Luquillo for something truly different. (www.yunkezipline.wordpress.com)
